Four R's Of Apostasy
|
Reference 2 Kings 17: 5- 23
This passage offers a plaintive heart rendering analysis of Israel’s fall. What led to Israel’s abandoning the principles and laws laid down by God? We shall see as we go through this message. Here is a clear warning of what happens to those that do ‘as it seems fit’, rather than following God’s sacred commands.
|
| 1. Refusing God’s ways, 2 Kings 17: 7 – 8 |
The people of God walked in the statutes of the nations whom the Lord cast out.
|
| 2. Rebelling against God, 2 Kings 17: 9 – 12 |
They secretly did evil against the Lord their God, things that were not right. They were running into evil excesses.
|
| 3. Rejecting God’s warning, 2 Kings 17: 13 – 15 |
The people of God rejected every prophetic warning. They, in effect rejected God!
|
| 4. Resorting to evil ways, 2 Kings 17: 16 – 18, Isaiah 8:16 f |
Rebellion unto demonic worship. They worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal, practiced witchcraft and soothsaying and sold themselves to do evil. In essence, they did everything against God’s holy Word.
As a result of disobedience we see that the people of Israel are removed from God’s presence.
2 Kings 17: 19 – 23

| The Lord was very angry and cast them from His sight |
Kingdom living offers great promise and blessing, but it never allows for selfish, carnal or evil pursuits. No kingdom power without kingdom obedience! Obey God and fall in line with His will and see the blessings overflow! |
